Este trabajo es un análisis de las trayectorias laborales de trabajadores autóctonos y de origen extranjero a partir de la muestra continua de vidas laborales de la seguridad social (en adelante MCVL). Se exploraron dos hipótesis. Por un lado, la antigüedad en el mercado de trabajo y la cualificación producen con el tiempo una “asimilación ocupacional de la inmigración” con los trabajadores autóctonos; por otro, la inserción de la inmigración en determinados nichos del mercado laboral limita la convergencia con los trabajadores autóctonos.
